Total Uninstall - powerful installation monitor and advanced uninstaller
If you are a curious user who like to install and test a lot of programs, you certainly know that uninstalling them and especially all those additional toolbars that come together with the programs has always been a problem. No matter how good the unistaller of that certain program is, there will always be some files or registry keys left behind. And these elements, as they become more and more over time, tend to slow down the system and even cause errors. To solve this, the user could backup all his important information, format the hard disk and re-install the system. But this takes time and effort. A better solution would be using the software Total Uninstall. The name says it all. The program can completely uninstall applications, clearing all the files and registry keys added by them.
The installation process is hassle-free and fast. The software takes up little disk space and manages to run on every version of Windows and on most of the computer configurations.
The program manages to uninstall an application completely by creating a snapshot of the system before the application is added and one after it has installed. After that it compares the two and stores the changes so that when the user wishes to remove the respective software from the system all of its files will be removed.
The interface of Total Uninstall is nice-looking and also useful for viewing the changes made by installed software to the system. It displays all the files and registry keys that were added by a specific software, as a result of a previous analysis made by the program. These changes can be viewed either as a summary or as a complete log that allow the user to access the files.
Total Uninstall offers three different profiles for the analysis, according to how thorough the user wants it to be at finding the data installed by a specific program into the system. These profiles can be customized to the user's needs and new profiles can also be created.
Total Uninstall provides two modules, one for listing all the programs installed on the system and one for listing the apps it currently monitors. The difference between them is the fact that for monitored software the before and after installation snapshots have already been made and the changes in the system have been recorded. Thus, when removing monitored software, the user can be sure that no traces will be left behind.
For keeping the user safe, Total Uninstall always creates a restore point for the system so if anything goes wrong when uninstalling an application, the user revert to the previous configuration without much effort. This features uses the System Restore component included in Windows.
The configuration feature of Total Uninstall is not something for beginners and should be used with caution, even by advanced users, because a slight mistake in setting the options could lead to errors.
Pros:
It has a nice interface and it's easy to use thanks to the graphical buttons available for each section of the application. Also, the monitoring process is seamless and transparent to the user. Besides that, the program is very efficient, as it removes all the traces of the programs.
Cons:
Beginners may have trouble using the multitude of options available in the configuration section of the program.
Total Uninstaller is a great tool for completely uninstalling software, living behind not even the slightest trace.
